The African Democratic Institute would like to congratulate Mamadou Toure on winning The Pan African Leaders Award 2016. 10 extraordinary Africans were nominated across the continent in the categories of (a) preserving peace, (b) crafting institutional development and (c) advocating for education – all core pillars of ADI. Mr. Touré was nominated under the category of institutional development.
Born in Cameroon, Mr. Touré is Founder and Chairman of Africa 2.0 Foundation, an initiative-driven advocacy group that brings together emerging leaders representing African countries and the Diaspora, who share a common vision of the continent’s future. In 2014, Mamadou was considered by Forbes Magazine as one of the Top 10 Most Powerful Men in Africa. Furthermore -in 2015 – he received a distinction as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
